Grand Rapids has an ideal relationship with its Detroit parent, which feels that its top prospects develop best in a winning environment. The Wings have surrounded young hopefuls Jimmy Howard and Jiri Hudler with such character veterans as Eric Manlow and Donald MacLean. The approach is a highly successful one: The Griffins have the second best list of players in the FAB50 with one top ten and a top fifteen pick.


	The Bulldogs hang in on the back half of the pack of FAB50 hopefuls with a troika from the front line. Locke and Pouliot may find themselves in a dog fight for an NHL roster spot.
