Jed Ortmeyer was a leading scorer at the University of Michigan and is described as having good speed to go along with decent size.
“He’s a grinder and he plays hard all the time,” states one source. “He plays an NHL style game.”
Ortmeyer tallied 10 points in 13 games with Hartford before being summoned by the N.Y. Rangers for his first NHL recall on 11/13/03.
Insider’s Edge:
Fedor Fedorov is a great talent who has yet to live up to high expectations, in part to a career threatening eye-injury.
Though he may never be a player the caliber of his older brother Sergei, our sources believe that Fedor can develop into a solid everyday player in the NHL.
At the time of his recall on 11/8/03, Fedorov was leading the Moose in scoring with seven goals and six assists for 13 points in 14 games.
