9.01.02 - The 2002/2003 Minor League Hockey Season is just a blue line away. It is time for MLN to “check” in with the leagues that will be providing the next NHL-MVP or Hockey Gold Medal Winner.

Four solid Minor Hockey Leagues will drop the puck this October. Joining in on the live speed on ice will be the Atlantic Coast Hockey League [ACHL].

The 2002/2003 minor league hockey season will have its peaks and valleys.

The one constant will be a butt-load of hockey fun. Whether it is a 1-0 game or a 6-5 affair, minor league hockey fans will get their moneys worth at the barn this year.

The talent at the minor league level is always improving. From the ground up Hockey Clubs get stronger year after year.

That may not be saying much. But in years past, not too long ago, only a handful of teams actually broke even after a season.

Nowadays most hockey outfits are upping their own “ante”. When the numbers are crunched at seasons end or quarter end or light bill time, whatever, everyone is paid.

Higher expectations are put on and off the ice by the fans of these hockey teams because of this.

This means a better product on the ice from the NHL down.

At the Double-A level of the Minor League Hockey scale the Central Hockey League [CHL] and the East Coast Hockey League [ECHL] take center stage.
