In a city with a population of only 75,000, how do you do you pack a 54-year-old ballpark night after night?   You keep it fun and lively for the fans so they'll keep coming back.

The Reading Phillies of the Eastern League have been doing a lot things right in recent years, as they led the Eastern League in attendance for the second straight year in 2003.   In fact, the team has topped 400,000 in attendance every season since 1998.

How does the team keep the attendance so strong year after year?   It's a fun place to watch a ballgame, that's why!

“This place has so much electricity to it.   It's like party central,” said veteran ballpark reviewer Eric Pastore of digitalballparks.com.   “We have yet to find a better Minor League stadium.”

New for FirstEnergy Stadium for 2004 is a 558-square-foot video board, that's the largest in the Minors below Triple-A.

The high-resolution screen is three times the size of the one it's replacing, giving the fans of Reading even more for the price of admission.
