A true five-tool player, he quickly made a name for himself in the Colorado Rockies organization last season by tearing up the Class A South Atlantic League [SAL] in both home runs [29] and RBI [98].

“He’s a very complete player,” Bill Geivett, Colorado Rockies Director of Player Personnel, says of Salazar.
The rising curtain on Salazar's 2004 career has him playing the leadoff man for the Visalia Oaks.
With Visalia, Jeff is hitting .340 with 13 HR and a .407 on base percentage. More importantly his 69 runs lead the high Class A California League.
“When you speak about five tool players he deserves to be mentioned because he exhibits them when you see him play,” says Geivett.
Having proved himself in Class-A, it looks as if Salazar will get the chance to test his mettle in the Texas League soon. According to Geivett, “Jeff really has his sights set on being in the big leagues.”
Salazar has a great shot at getting there. He continues to move along through the system without signs of slowing down. He is definitely a player on the Rockies' Radar, and one of the brightest stars in the Class A heavens, making him our number 15 MLN Fab50 pick.
